The main entrances are located on Jaffray Road, which runs along the back of the school. The children and adults can gain access to both the KS1 and KS 2 playgrounds. This became the entry point in 2007, due to the opening of the Foundation Stage outside learning area, which meant that the previous access route had to be closed. The front entrance of the school on Raglan Road, can only be accessed via a security door and is mainly used by visitors, rather than a main access point.
The area around the school is highly populated and the school is on an island surrounded by narrow roads with heavy parking. The busier Southlands Road and the major Bromley Common Road (A21) flank these. The narrow roads cause major problems when parents and children try to cross. Although we have a very valued Lollipop lady who helps the children cross Southlands Road before school and at the end of the school day; this is the only crossing patrol, even though parents and children approach Raglan from all directions. On wet days, cars park on both sides of the road and on the corners, which makes it very difficult for her as approaching vehicles cannot see around the junction.
There is restricted permit holders parking, between 12.00 – 2.00pm, in all of the roads surrounding the school. There are parking meters in Chatterton Road.
