We want to let you know about the things we can offer to support you in the vital work of looking after children’s physical and mental health in the months ahead.

Harold’s Daily Diary and resources for teachers
Our SCARF online resources remain open to you throughout school closures and our team is available to support you to adapt to whatever circumstances your school community is dealing with.

Harold – our happy, healthy giraffe mascot and a favourite with children – will be posting a daily blog: Harold’s Daily Diary – starting next Monday, 23rd March at 9am! Each day he’ll be giving children positive, fun messages about what he’s doing to stay happy and healthy while he’s off school, separated from his friends. He’ll invite the children to join in activities which will be family-friendly, varied and tailored to all ages, follow his Daily Plan and download and fill in their own version.

We are doing this because we know that having a routine and structure are key to providing children with security at this challenging time. Topics will include:

·         Taking regular exercise

·         Being creative

·         Helping others

·         Connecting with others – in ways that are safe

·         Mindfulness – learning to enjoy the moment, here and now.

Ask your parents and carers to follow @CoramLifeEd (Twitter) or @CoramLifeEducation (Facebook) each day to see what Harold is up to!

And feel free to share the link with the school community – it’s already live and Harold has put a little message on it! https://www.coramlifeeducation.org.uk/harolds-daily-diary

Check out Harold’s Daily Diary!

Keep an eye for our alerts, we’ll be in touch with more support for schools.

All the very best,

The SCARF team
